ISFSI Launches Training Officer Credential Designation

The International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) launched the Training Officer Credential designation today at the Central Arizona Regional Training Academy in Prescott, AZ. Thirteen credential candidates from ten departments participated in the first program.

For Immediate Release: ISFSI Seeking Members for Beta Testing for ALERT Grant

ISFSI is seeking members with experience training in rail emergencies and/or hazardous materials to participate in a beta test of an online decision making training program associated with the ALERT grant.  Participants will be asked to participate in the online training as a student and then provide valuable feedback regarding the tool and suggestions for improving the program.  Those participating will receive a $250 stipend to compensate them for their time.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) recommends that all fire departments immediately take the following actions to reduce the risk of fire fighters being injured or killed while operating on roofs that contain translucent corrugated roof panels:
