W. Edward (Eddie) Buchanan,
began his career in the fire service in 1982 and currently serves as a Division Chief with Hanover (VA) Fire & EMS. He is author of The Volunteer Training Officer's Handbook from Fire Engineering Books & Videos and serves on the Board of Directors for the Volunteer / Combination Officer's Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. He also serves as Director at Large for the International Society of Fire Service Instructors. He is the former Chief of the Henry Volunteer Fire Department and remains a life member today. He is an Adjunct Instructor for the Virginia Department of Fire Programs as served as a Hands-On Training (H.O.T.) Instructor for the Fire Department Instructor's Conference and has written various articles on training issues.

Tim is a 21 – year student and educator of the fire & emergency services currently serving as the President of the International Society of Fire Services Instructors (ISFSI) having previously served as the Chief of Fire Training for Savannah Fire & Emergency Services, GA, Assistant Fire Chief for Missouri City Fire & Rescue Services, TX and as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department. Tim has earned a Masters degree in Leadership from Bellevue University, B.S. degrees in Fire Administration, Arson and an A.S. degree in Emergency Medical Care from Eastern Kentucky University.

Tim is the editor of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) publication The Instructor, and a contributing author to numerous other publications including: The Volunteer Voice, Firehouse.com Members Zone, National Fire & Rescue, The Atlantic Firefighter, Fire Rescue, and the Fire & Emergency Television Network (FETN) in which he is the writer/developer of the featured “SURVIVAL!” program. In addition to his numerous accomplishments as a writer, Tim has been a featured speaker in more than twenty-five U.S. states and five Canadian provinces.

In July 2002, Tim was awarded the prestigious Innovator of the Year Award from the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) for his innovative training ideas and concepts in the area of firefighter safety & survival. In 2001, Tim was awarded the George Hughes Award from the Texas Association of Fire Educators for his accomplishments as a speaker and trainer in the state of Texas. Most recently, Tim presented the keynote address for the 2007 Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Tim is currently working on a new book on Leadership and Training and continues to work towards completion of the Executive Fire Officer program.

Douglas Cline
is a 25-year veteran and student of the Fire Service serving as the Fire Chief with the Eden (NC) Fire Department. Chief Cline is a North Carolina Level II Fire Instructor, National Fire Academy Instructor, Faculty for Great Oaks Institute of Technology Public Safety Services Division in Cincinnati, Ohio and an EMT-Paramedic instructor/coordinator for the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services. Cline is a member of the North Carolina Society of Fire Service Instructors and the International Society of Fire Service Instructors where he serves on the Board of Directors as The Second Vice President. Cline also serves as peer reviewer for the Fire Act Grants and as the Northern Director for the North Carolina Fireman's Association Piedmont Region. Cline was honored as the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI), 1999 Instructor of the Year. Chief Cline is also a member of National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE). He holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Services with a Minor in Education from Concord College. Chief Cline is a well known international speaker presenting programs on instructor development, officer development, rapid intervention team training and firefighter safety and survival. Chief Cline also is a highly published author with the most recent publications being with Thomson-Delmar Learning. The Publications are the Company Officer Test Preparation Guide Book with a scenario training DVD and technical content advisor and contributing author to the instructor support materials for the Rapid Intervention Team Book. Cline also has multiple training videos with the Fire and Emergency Training Network and American Heat .

Christopher J. Naum
is a 33-year fire service veteran and a former Fire Chief/ Coordinator at a nuclear power generation plant in the Northeastern United States, where he managed site-wide fire protection & industrial safety. A nationally recognized authority on building construction, structural collapse and command management, he has traveled throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom delivering training programs on building construction, strategic command management and risk assessment and firefighter safety. An Adjunct Instructor with the National Fire Academy, he specializes in training courses for Structural Collapse-Rescue-USAR Incident Command Management, Building Construction and Fire Service & Firefighter Safety & Health. A Contributing Editor with Firehouse Magazine since 1988 and Firehouse.com since 2002, he has authored numerous articles on building construction, firefighting operations, command, leadership and special technical rescue operations. He is the author of the monthly column at Firehouse.com entitled- Structural Anatomy that focuses on building construction, command risk management and firefighter safety. He was honored with the 1987 ISFSI George D. Post National Fire Instructor of the Year as presented by the International Society of Fire Service Instructors. In addition, Mr. Naum has over fifteen years of experience within the areas of architectural design, planning & management having served as a project architect for a major consulting architecture & engineering firm. He has served on numerous FEMA, USFA, NFPA, IAFC and ISFSI task forces, committees and panels over the past twenty seven years. He holds full professional member grade Fire Protection Engineer-SFPE, status from the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. In addition, he has previously served as a commanding company officer for over twenty years with a volunteer fire department in Central New York. He is a principal with EMAC International LLC, a Washington, DC based emergency management & training organization, and is the Chief of Training for the Command Institute. He is authoring a new text book on Building Construction for the Fire Services integrating architecture & construction technology, command risk decision making and firefighter safety. He continues to present his popular structural anatomy building construction training series throughout the United States and internationally.
Kevin Milan
is the Division Chief of Training for the Golden Colorado Fire Department. A 16 year veteran of the fire service, Kevin has progressed through the ranks with a constant focus on training. He maintains a professional educator's license in addition to extensive fire service credentials. Kevin currently serves as President of the Colorado Training Officers Association and is active in bringing research based instructional strategies to the fire service. Milan was recognized in 2006 for excellence in research by the United States Fire Administration, and is a recipient of the Don A Manno award from the National Society of Fire Service Executives for his research on fire service instruction. Kevin is finishing the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy and is currently pursuing his Masters in Fire Service Leadership. He is a contract instructor for the State of Colorado, in addition to presenting at numerous national conferences.
 
Devon Wells:
Devon Wells is the Assistant Fire Chief of the Hood River Fire Department in Oregon. A 17 year veteran of the fire service, Devon began his career as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Odell Rural Fire Protection District. He worked his way through the ranks of that agency, serving as Lieutenant and Captain, as well as being the Training Officer for 8 years. He spent four years with the Corvallis Fire Department as a Resident Volunteer and Fire Prevention Specialist while earning his Bachelors of Science degree from Oregon State University. After college, Devon started as the Fire Marshal for the City of Hood River. He served in this position until he earned his Paramedic certification and progressed through the ranks of Lieutenant and Captain. He was promoted to Assistant Chief in 2005.

Wells is also a team leader, rescue technician, and Public Information Officer for the Crag Rat Mountain Rescue team, providing mountain and wilderness search and rescue on Mt. Hood and surrounding wilderness areas. Wells is a Division Supervisor/Structure Protection Specialist trainee on the Northwest Type 2 Incident Management Team for the USFS and a Wildland Task Force/Strike Team Leader for Hood River County.

Devon holds many professional certifications including NFPA Firefighter 2, Fire Officer 2, and Rope and Water Rescue Technician, and International Code Council Inspector 2. He has been awarded the Firefighter of the Year Award, Engineer of the Year Award, and Outstanding Leadership Award. Wells is currently a member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors where he is one of two Western Regional Directors, the Oregon Fire Instructors Association, the Oregon Fire Chiefs Association, and the Mountain Rescue Association. Devon is a faculty member at the Columbia Gorge Community College where he teaches EMS courses. Devon is pursuing a second Bachelors Degree in Fire Service Administration from Eastern Oregon University. He is the coordinator of the Columbia Gorge Training Associations regional Firefighter 1 Academy.

Rob Stumpf
is the Battalion Chief of Training for the City of Bloomington (IN) Fire Department and a firefighter with the White River Township Fire Department in Greenwood (IN). He is a contributing author to FireRescue and Fire Engineering Magazine, a certified Instructor II/III, and a graduate of Indiana University. He is a member of the Indiana Fire Instructor Association and also serves on the Indiana Homeland Security District 8 Training Committee.
Michael D. Finney
is a 22-year veteran of the fire service, having served at all ranks from Firefighter to Chief. He currently serves as the Director of Public Safety Services for Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development. Mike is also the Fire Chief for the Village of Glendale, Ohio. Michael has been honored to serve with such organizations as the International Fire Service Training Association/ Fire Protection Publications and with the South Carolina Fire Academy. He is also an adjunct instructor with the National Fire Academy for the "Fire Service Course Design" program. He has authored/edited several books and numerous magazine publications in leadership and training for the fire service. He has also performed extensive research in issues related to fire service training. Michael holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of South Carolina, a Masters of Divinity from Columbia International University, and is currently completing a Doctorate in Education from Oklahoma State University and is listed in the 2003 edition of Who's Who in America and in the 2007 edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders

Mary Sovick:
Mary Sovick is a retired firefighter from South Metro (Denver) Fire & Rescue, the owner of Fireline Training & Consulting, and developer of Ignite Your Writing training seminars. Since leaving South Metro in 1996, Mary has focused her professional interest on elevating writing standards and writing skills in the fire service as well as other agencies.

Mary is an adjunct instructor for the National Fire Academy and for the Fire and Emergency Services Administration program at Colorado State University. She has presented her Ignite Your Writing seminars to a large number of fire departments, community colleges, and fire academies across the country. Her professional memberships include but are not limited to the following: ISFSI Technical Review Committee, Colorado Fire Training Officers Association, and the American Society of Training and Development.

Mary holds a Masters Degree in Education with a focus on Adult Education and Training from Colorado State University. She also earned a master's level certificate in technical communications from the University of Denver. Her professional services include presenting Ignite Your Writing seminars, speaking at regional and national conferences, providing program development services, editing various fire department projects and emergency operational plans, teaching adult instruction workshops, and consulting with fire departments for development and evaluation of written components of promotional exams and assessment centers. Mary has written extensively on the need to elevate writing standards in the fire service.

Steve Pegram:
Chief Pegram is currently the Deputy Fire Chief with the City of Xenia Ohio. Chief Pegram was born and raised in Brooklyn NY however he started his fire service career in the suburbs of Philadelphia Pennsylvania while still in high school. Soon after high school, Chief Pegram moved to New Jersey where he attended college and served as fire inspector for Princeton NJ as well as Fire Chief in Pennington NJ. In 1997 Chef Pegram moved to Mason, OH where he was the Deputy Fire Chief until October of 2000. For the past seven years Chief Pegram served as the Training Officer and Shift Commander with the Loveland Symmes FD in Loveland, OH.

Chief Pegram has an Associated Degree in Fire Science and is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Fire Administration from the University of Cincinnati. Chief Pegram is a 1998 graduate of the National Fire Service Staff and Command School, and he has completed multiple courses thru the National Fire Academy. Chief Pegram serves on the editorial board for Fire Rescue Magazine and has published more than 20 articles pertaining to fire service operations. Chief Pegram currently resides in Maineville Ohio with his wife and two children.
Alan Brody:
Alan Brody began his fire service career in 1972 as an Explorer Scout and has worked his way thru several fire departments to his current position as the Training Officer for the Mnjikaning Fire Rescue Service, Rama Ontario Canada, and a volunteer firefighter with the Orillia Fire Department in Ontario. He is a, a certified Ontario Instructor, Public Fire and Life Safety Educator, Company Officer, Firefighter and Incident Safety Officer. He is a member of the Ontario Association of Fire Training Officers and instructs at the Ontario Fire College as an Associate Instructor.
